IEEE意识到许多人直接或间接地参与了与COVID-19的斗争，并深刻发现了其对全球健康与安全、研究、基础设施、通信等方面的影响。IEEE已经从IEEE Xplore数字图书馆中整理了一些相关文章和标准，为公众提供免费获取途径，以方便技术专家、工程师、科学家、制造商在应对全球COVID-19突发公共卫生事件时使用这些标准。
